Mataru Construction: Our Story

Who We Are

Established in 2008, Mataru Construction began with a clear focus on building renovations. Through steady, consistent growth, we expanded our expertise into constructing new buildings and developing high-quality pavement infrastructure. We believe in continuous improvement, moving from strength to strength by gaining deep industry knowledge and mastering our craft with every project we undertake.

Built on Heritage and Passion

Our company is named in honor of our grandfather, Mataru, who hailed from Makira Island. He was a deeply passionate, self-taught carpenter who proved that dedication and craftsmanship can build a legacy.

Inspired by his journey, we taught ourselves the ins and outs of the trade, inheriting not just his skills, but his work ethic.

Through hands-on training and paid employment in the construction industry, the company is empowering these youths with practical skills and valuable work experience, despite many of them having no formal diplomas or certificates. By engaging them in meaningful construction work, Mataru Construction is helping these young people build a better future for themselves, gain confidence and financial independence, and contribute positively to their communities while reducing social problems and criminal activities.
